The Brisbane Bandits pride themselves in being a sporting organisation that works with grass roots baseball players to not only inspire but assist in education of our next generation baseball athletes.
As part of a partnership with Northern Territory Baseball and proudly supported by the Northern Territory Government the Brisbane Bandits will be sending their Academy coordinators Donald Lutz and Travis Blackley and Pitching Coach Ryan Searle to assist in delivering workshops, training and assessments as part of the Northern Territory Baseball Youth Showcase.
Lutz, Blackley and Searle will travel to Alice Springs for the 4 day Youth Showcase intent on sharing their MLB and ABL insight, assist in delivering workshops for youth players and provide a connection between the ABL and the Northern Territory. With the assistance of modern baseball assessment technology and the insight and Game IQ that Lutz, Blackley and Searle possess, we expect participants to grow in their understanding of themselves as athletes and in their skill capacity as young baseball players.
Brisbane Bandits Owner Mark Ready is thrilled to send the Academy coordinators to the NT.

Gemma Scales, Baseball NT General Manager is excited to host our Bandits Academy coordinators for the 4 day showcase.
“Youth baseball is thriving in Alice Springs and we are pleased to cap off an extremely successful season with this event. Bringing the Bandits to the Territory will have long-lasting impacts to our players and coaches. We have remained committed to providing opportunities for our youth over a turbulent past twelve months. This event will give our resilient group of players the platform to showcase their skills and culminate their training efforts, while our local coaches develop their craft. I am excited to bring a taste of professional baseball to the Territory.”
The showcase is set to start on Thursday the 15th and conclude on Sunday the 18th of April with an expected 40+ participants to be involved over there 4 days.
The Brisbane Bandits are also excited to work with Baseball NT to set a benchmark for ABL clubs as we engage community level baseball. We are also eager to continue these experiences for clubs and regions within Queensland in the near future.
